Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-19
This policy explains what data The Daily Wordle ("we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep the site simple: there are no accounts and no sign-in.
Information we store on your device
Your game progress, statistics, streaks, theme preference and which hints you have revealed are
stored in your browser's localStorage. This data stays on your device, is not sent
to us, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage — for example, how many people play a puzzle, which pages are visited, and which tools are used. Analytics data is aggregated and is not used by us to identify you personally. Google may process this data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Advertising
This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info and www.youronlinechoices.com.
- Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK or Switzerland), we ask for your consent before non-essential advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use them, and allow our advertising and
analytics partners to use them, for the purposes described above. You can block or delete
cookies in your browser settings; the game itself does not require cookies and will continue to
work using localStorage.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Because we do not run accounts and do not directly collect personal data, most requests relate to our analytics and advertising partners; we will help where we can. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by law.
Data retention
Data stored in your browser remains until you clear it. Aggregated analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's settings.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Third parties
We do not sell personal data. Our analytics and advertising providers process data under their own privacy policies. Links to third-party sites are provided for reference only.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date above.
