Who we are

The Daily Wordle is an independent, Wordle-focused puzzle and search utility. We publish a daily five-letter puzzle, progressive hints, a Wordle solver, a five-letter word finder and an archive of past puzzles.

Independence from The New York Times

The Daily Wordle is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The New York Times or the official Wordle game. We do not use NYT logos, artwork or interface assets. The word "Wordle" is used descriptively, to refer to the type of puzzle.

How our content is produced

We separate facts from language:

• Facts are computed by programs. Puzzle answers, letter counts, vowel counts, repeated letters, difficulty scores and hints are derived deterministically from data. They are never invented by an AI at request time.
• Language is written by people. Guides, explanations and supporting copy are written and edited for clarity.

This means a page may be generated from data, but the values on it are reproducible and auditable rather than guessed.

Data sources

• Our own daily puzzle is generated from our own curated answer list.
• NYT Wordle answers shown on the hints, answer and archive pages are reference data assembled from public, community-maintained sources. They are clearly labelled as unofficial. We do not claim to be the official Wordle or its answer feed.
• Definitions come from Open English WordNet (CC BY 4.0). Word frequency data comes from wordfreq. These are credited in our source repository.

Accuracy and corrections

We aim for accuracy, but data can be wrong or out of date. If you spot an error — an incorrect answer, a missing definition, or a broken page — please email [email protected] and we will correct it. Corrections to factual data take priority over stylistic changes.

Advertising and editorial independence

This site is supported by advertising. Advertisers do not influence our puzzle data, guides or rankings. Ads are placed away from the game board so they do not interfere with play.

Updates

The daily puzzle changes at 00:00 UTC. Historical pages are not rewritten; once a puzzle is published its answer is fixed.
